Etching Basic Rules
1. The hole limit is related to the plate thickness. The minimum
hole size or width cannot be less than 1.3 times the plate
thickness. If the plate thickness is 0.3mm, the hole size must be
0.3X1.3=0.39mm at least.
2. Relationship between tolerance and plate thickness. The minimum
tolerance is +/-( plate thickness/10). If the plate thickness is
0.5mm, the tolerance is +/- (0.5/10)=+/-0.05mm. For plate
thickness below 0.1mm, the tolerance is +/-0.01mm.
3. Etching cannot produce right angles. Instead, a circular arc
will be produced at the right angle. The minimum radius of the
circular arc is the thickness of the plate. If the plate thickness
is 0.2mm, a circular arc of R0.2mm will be produced at all right
angles.
